Overview

The Global Content Institute (GCI) welcomes applications from qualified international students to its graduate programs. This page provides essential information regarding eligibility, application requirements, and the admission process.

Who Should Apply

Applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible to apply.
  • Individuals who have obtained, or are expected to obtain, a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent or
    higher level of education recognized by law.
  • Applicants from any academic background or major are welcome to apply.
  • Applicants who are expected to graduate must submit an official certificate of graduation (or degree) by
    the first week of the semester.

※This admission track is open to international applicants only. Applicants holding Korean nationality, including dual citizenship with Korean nationality, are not eligible to apply under this category.

※Degrees obtained through non-formal or alternative education systems, including lifelong education programs(such as correspondence programs, online programs, adult education programs, or self-taught higher education examinations), as well as high school equivalency examinations from other countries (e.g., GED or similar qualifications), are not recognized for admission.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit all required documents in hard copy, either by mail or in person, by the application deadline.
  • Printed online application form
  • Statement of Purpose
  • One official undergraduate transcript
  • One bachelor’s degree certificate or certificate of expected graduation
  • Resume or Curriculum Vitae (CV), if applicable
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • Portfolio, if required for certain tracks
  • One copy of the applicant’s passport and ID card
  • One copy of the parents’ passport, ID card, or other nationality verification documents
  • One official family relationship certificate for the applicant and parents (Chinese applicants: copy of household register)
  • One copy of the applicant’s and parents’ alien registration cards, if residing in Korea
  • Original English proficiency test score report (TOEFL or IELTS), if applicable
  • Certificate of bank balance, to be submitted after admission

Language Proficiency

Applicants must satisfy at least one of the following language proficiency requirements.
  • TOEFL iBT 59 or above
  • IELTS 5.5 or above

※Only test scores issued within the valid period are accepted.


※Official language test score reports must be submitted at the time of application.


※Applicants who meet at least one of the above requirements are eligible to apply.


※Applicants with a degree from an English-speaking country may be exempt from the English proficiency requirement.

Application Process

  • Submit the online application form and required documents.
  • Applications are reviewed by the admissions committee of each program or track.
  • Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview (online or in person).
  • Final admission decisions are made after comprehensive evaluation.
  • Successful applicants will receive an official admission offer.

Evaluation & Selection

Applications are evaluated comprehensively based on the following criteria.
  • Academic background and academic potential
  • Quality of portfolio or previous work (if applicable)
  • Statement of purpose and motivation for study
  • Research, creative, or technical potential relevant to the chosen program
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Interview performance (if conducted)

※Admission decisions are made by the faculty admissions committee based on overall excellence and program suitability.

Visa Information

Admitted students must apply for a D-2 student visa and complete all immigration and enrollment procedures as required by Korean law.

※Visa issuance and immigration procedures are the responsibility of the student.

Notification & Enrollment

  • Admission results will be announced individually via email.
  • Admitted students must complete enrollment and tuition payment within the designated period.
  • Visa-related documents will be issued after enrollment confirmation.
